The Seniors Job Bank’s mission of connecting older people with meaningful jobs resonated with me. I joined the SJB Board right before the pandemic in 2020. My background as a Pension Actuary exposed me to technology and online software systems. Joining the SJB Board as Assistant Treasurer, I was excited to research and help implement an updated database for SJB.
Technology has become increasingly important coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. A robust software system has enabled SJB to automate time-consuming administrative tasks, budgeting, and communications. This frees up staff and volunteers to connect with jobseekers and employers!
I’ve seen first-hand how investing in technology has yielded positive changes in how the Seniors Job Bank delivers on connecting experienced workers with businesses, municipalities, homeowners, and individuals who have work to be done.
