Our Mission

The Seniors Job Bank connects people over 50 looking for full-time, part-time, and temporary work with businesses, municipalities, homeowners and other employers that have work to be done. SJB enables companies, professional practices, and government agencies to hire experienced staff offering an extensive range of skills and talents, blue- and white collar. Households and other domestic clients turn to SJB to complete home maintenance and improvements, and to arrange for a variety of personal services. SJB contributes to the financial and social well-being of its jobseekers as well as to the general economic health of the greater Hartford region.

We serve the 35 cities/ towns of the Greater Hartford region.

How does the Seniors Job Bank Work?

The Seniors Job Bank is not an employment agency. Our process enables employers (businesses municipalities, homeowners, and individuals) to connect with one another. All aspects of the jobs we list must be negotiated and agreed upon by the jobseekers and employers. Here are more details about our process:

If you’re an employer…announce your job opening by clicking on the Hire for your Business or Home circle on our homepage . Once we receive and approve your job notice, it will be available for our jobseekers to discover.

If you’re a jobseeker…register on the homepage clicking on the Need A Job circle on our homepage . You will be invited to an informal interview with a member of our team, and upon approval, you’ll be ready to view and apply for jobs listed on our website. 

If you’re interested in a particular job…log into our website and express your interest in the position. We’ll give the employer your contact information that he or she may use to arrange an interview, request additional information, discuss details of the job, answer your questions, negotiate pay, and perhaps make an offer.
