I joined the Board of the Seniors Job Bank in 2013. Living in Bloomfield, I met weekly with seniors at the Bloomfield Senior Center looking for help with home repair and other domestic services the Seniors Job Bank offered. Back then, SJB didn’t have as many jobs in the business and municipal sectors.
Over the years, the Seniors Job Bank has evolved and adapted to changes in the job market and the economy. In my recent 2-year term as Secretary of the Board, I’ve seen substantive, positive changes in connecting with more jobseekers and employers. SJB has expanded the services it provides, and the communities that it impacts. Business employers as well as homeowners speak glowingly of the Seniors Job Bank.
The Seniors Job Bank serves a real need in the community. I enthusiastically support the growth and evolution of this important community resource.
