I became involved with the Seniors Job Bank through my service on West Hartford’s Senior Citizens Advisory Commission. Founded in 1974, SJB assisted older individuals in finding supplemental work for homeowners who needed help until the economic downturn in 2008.
In 2012, the SCAC investigated ways to enhance the lives of seniors. We worked with West Hartford citizens and community leaders to reinstate the Seniors Job Bank. Today, with a small staff and an active volunteer Board, SJB continues to make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors and our local economy.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Seniors Job Bank. I am proud to be an active supporter of the Seniors Job Bank through my family foundation and serve on the Board as SJB’s investment committee chair.
