I became involved with the Seniors Job Bank when Jim Doran (Board, Investment Manager) came to meet with me when I was the CEO of Jewish Family Services of Greater Hartford. He had been told by one of my colleagues at a local foundation that I could help him with the steps/requirements to re-start a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Jim came prepared with an impressive business plan that he had written and a strong vision and commitment. I believed that I could be helpful and I knew then that I would like to be a part of this organization!
My favorite thing about SJB is the strong commitment to the SJB mission shown by both the staff and board. We all feel a sense of pride in the ways SJB can enrich the lives of persons 50 years of age and over through advocacy, workforce development, and creative programming.
